Right now, there’s a fight going on to keep Planned Parenthood from being funded. Republicans have taken away the funding, and now there’s a petition to get it back. Planned Parenthood, contrary to what many believe, is not about free condoms and birth control. Planned Parenthood is about education and health. Providing health care and education and testing to those who may not have anywhere else to go. Teens, lower income families, and those without the money to take proper care of themselves all can rely on this group to help them. It’s about planning what your parenthood will be like, and providing options and information for those who face an unfortunate situation (unplanned/unwanted) pregnancy.
